Variations in my experience come from setting the blade depth on the bandsaw mill based on what each log has available.

Just looking at the Mec, the only clue to how awesome it is is the size of that arm! It looks overbuilt! It would be interesting if they had incorporated a digital scale, with a read out in the cab. I've seen that on cranes. Very cool!! 8) --gary

Doesn’t help putting a cooler thermostat in if your COOLING FAN DOES NOT GET TURNED ON AT THE LOWER TEMPERATURE PERIOD if you had electric fans to turn on sooner would help and ac on will partially turn on and if you want cooler just make a plate with a 1/2” hole to slow the flow down if you’re removing the thermostat the water is flowing to fast for the radiator to extract the heat

Watching your video cuz Im considering a new Ram 3500 HO. I had no idea where you're located, not even what state, or where you did the filming.... until you pulled into that restaurant to do your u-turn. Hey, that looks familiar! Now I know exactly where you are and where you did the filming. I live fairly nearby and I pass that restaurant (on my way to the lake just down the road from it) at least 10 times a year. 😄👍

Have watched several of these videos. Currently I’m hung up and can’t install the thermostat housing into the freeze plug hole into the back of the block. There is a metal coolant hose running around the back of the block tying into a coolant line feeding the turbo. Anyone experienced this?

I just found your video while surfing in UA-cam looking for these generation Rams, love them!! Your video is really inspirational, letting us see that even a junk car can be brought to live with patience, skills and some money.

One reason some guys load in reverse is to prevent tip over. You don't always have the ideal flat loading/unloading surface for your trailer. If you're loading forward and start tip tip over backwards, nothing is gonna stop you. If you load in reverse, the skid will not tip over the attachment. I know experienced guys will not have this issue, but some might.

your a driver, and not just a civilian with a trailer , do not under estimate what you do for a living, it take skill even if your allowed to drive on a class 5 as a driver my self , it takes a skill set to haul heavy safely , you and dad do it right , fire suppression on site , most civilians can not do a day in your life , let alone day after day , after hour after hour , to get it done ,and when it breaks, till it fix so you can go too work again next day ,,,, stay proud Canada "A"🥸🤓 longest day 42 hrs but it did not end there got home 10am and my 8yr son needed a daddy day ;) i happy obliged till 8pm when i tucked him in , but averaged 20+ many the day ,2hr bunk time and back again , electronic log books happily put a end too those crazy hour days

How’s the ride with weight on the 5500 compared to being empty?

It’s our own fault that we’re paying double. Red light running is a common occurrence. Every day you’re going to see two to three red light runners at the intersections. Now imagine how many times that’s happening across the country. When I drive from Arizona to Florida and back I am amazed how many runners I see. Another one is passing the vehicle when they don’t have enough room so you have two vehicles diving into the emergency lane to give the idiot enough room to pass to avoid a head on collision. Drivers are so angry now a days they don’t care if they kill you because they’re hiding behind their insurance.

I was impressed with the Mecalac day 1 when I saw how they engineered the cage around the cab! The whole machine made good use of engineering software! That combination works great! Good choice!! 8) --gary

I run that brand tree shear but without the grapple feature. Solid company. They just sold to another company recently and it’s hit or miss on assistance.

I like the shear, I've been eyeballing the mecalak for a while, I think it's a cool concept. I don't like the design of the hydraulic coupler where you switch between your different attachments. Is there a secondary locking mechanism that holds the attachment on or is it just that single hydraulic cylinder? I wonder if that's the only style coupler they offer?

Looks like its working pretty good. What is the plan for the stumps. A lot of difference in how you and Lets Dig clear on opposite sides of the country. You are dealing with all of the hills and can't burn the brush like he does. But I would really like to see him in a Mec. Thanks for the videos.

Very nice combination- I really like the Mecalac. Global is supposed to open a location in Helena, MT near me. I like the concept of having one machine that can function as a skid steer and excavator.

Always knew you gentlemen needed a feller/buncher. Congratulations, I doubt you'll miss cutting everything with a chainsaw.

Excavator with the option for a grapple and a tree shear PLUS the speed of a skid steer and the better center of gravity... What a combination!

The dymax shear is great, but a biojack 400 would look really good on there.
